ore di preparazione e poi in 55 minuti e' tutto finito

scusate l'inglese ma di tradurlo proprio non mi va.

sorrisi,

PERSONAL OBJECTIVES: to be able to slow down my pace and speak clearly. To adapt to the level of my students since it is the first time I teach beginners.

---

WARMER (8 mins):
Self introduction.
3 categories on the board: Sports, Food, Drinks. Have the students brainstorm on the categories trying to elicit as many words as possible (leave them on the board for later).
Have them comment on the words written on the board and introduce a few more by showing pictures or drawing on the board. Drill for pronunciation.

PRESENTATION (10 mins):
Write down a few words from the ones acquired during the warmer. Draw a smiley faces next to the first word. Write the first model sentence: "I like pizza". Draw another smiley face next to the second word and proceed likewise eliciting model sentences (in the positive or in the negative). Elicit the interrogative form by showing the swapping of subject and verb: "Do you like pizza?". Ask questions to the students about some more words already mentioned.

PRACTICE (20 mins):
1st Activity: ALL
Pictionary with names of sports.
Who likes to draw? We’re going to play a game. This is how it works. Take a card from an envelope that reads: SPORTS. Show the students that you picked one card. Don't show them the card. Mime that it should be kept a secret. Draw the sport on the board and have them guess what it is. Ask the one who guesses right to do the next one.

2nd Activity: ALL
Smiley faces.
Here I have some pictures in this envelope. One at a time they pick a picture; they flip it and see whether there is a smiley face or a "frowny" face, and they have to give a sentence accordingly. Model the first one for them.

3rd Activity: ALL
Jumbled letters.
I have some words but the letters got mixed up (mime "mixed up"). You have to help me make them right. Give each student a jumbled word (according to their level).

PRODUCTION (10 mins): MINGLE
Find someone who...
The students will have a list of questions (and answers) to ask each other about their tastes: what they like and what they don't. At the end they will have to report what they have learnt about their friends. Make a list of their likes and dislikes on the board and have them comment on it.

CONCLUSION (2 mins): What have we learnt today? Do you like English? Do you like studying?

FILLER (5 mins):
Game: Words out of...

Ask the students for letters (write them on the board). Letters scattered on the board. Have the students form words using the letters; write all words on the board; tell them they have to reach 20 words.

molto interessante!
